Local Dynamics Around Attracting Fixed Points of Meromorphic Maps

read it hereThis was a reading/expository project on holomorphic dynamics, under the guidance of Dr. Niladri Patra. I did this project with anwesha and we wrote an expository article on it.
The paper surveys the local behaviour of meromorphic maps of the Riemann sphere in the neighbourhood of attracting fixed points. After recalling fundamental complex-analytic tools (holomorphicity, normal families, Montel's theorem, Riemann-Hurwitz), it introduces the Fatou and Julia sets, along with stating some properties and their proofs. The article focuses on attracting periodic orbits and explores important results of the same from Koenigs Linearisation and its global extension to studying the behaviour of critical points.

The Generalised Stokes Theorem and Calculus on Manifolds

This paper is an exposition of the Generalized Stokes Theorem and covers topics of calculus on manifolds. The paper starts at the ground by defining manifolds and extending ideas of smoothness, boundaries, and orientation to them. It introduces multilinear functions and their algebra, followed by differential forms, as an application of exterior algebra in manifolds. This section starts building the multilinear structures on Euclidean spaces and follows through to manifolds. Further, it covers how ideas of integration are extended to manifolds, finally reaching the generalized Stokes theorem. The final section is a revisit to classical theorems in vector calculus, and how they can be derived from the generalized Stokes theorem.
